Life Is An Adventure

Hey y'all!! Sorry I've been missing in action but the organization I work for is currently hosting camp for the kids in our community called camp AdventureoUS. Picture this four camps, thirty something campers, two weeks each, no breaks in between, and non stop adventures while social distancing. I call it a beautiful chaos but really it has been so worth it! I feel so blessed to do what I do. I must admit at times I've been exhausted, overwhelmed, overheated, felt unappreciated by the youth I serve and just plain stressed out, but these young people are so passionate about life. They keep me laughing, and although they've been through much they are so resilient. They have taught me how to be more patient and just enjoy each moment. But most importantly they have reminded me that even in a pandemic we need to stay connected. I have made a lot of new relationships over the last six weeks and it has been so beautiful to see some of the seeds I've planted in these young people start to produce fruit. Lets face it 2020 took a lot from us but I believe we will receive a lot in return.
